CUT 27 Skill Points: Dynamic & Attribute Upgrades

College Football Ultimate Team 27 introduces a streamlined way to upgrade your player items: Skill Points (SP). You earn SP by completing objectives with a specific card, exchanging tokens or other items, or purchasing them with alternate currencies. Every player item has a maximum SP cap—though that cap can be increased later—and you’ll spend SP on four upgrade categories: Dynamic Upgrade Paths, Attribute Upgrade Paths, Ability Slots, and Chemistry Slots. Some items may still use coins or training instead of SP.

      Upgrade Paths

Dynamic Upgrade Paths are tied to position archetypes. For example, an East/West Playmaker Halfback path randomly boosts acceleration, change of direction, ball carrier vision, and juke, while a Contact Seeker Halfback path improves trucking, break tackle, stiff-arm, and strength. Attributes that are vital to the position may appear in multiple archetypes. Each path has its own attribute cap (e.g., a Speedster path maxes Speed at 90, while a Route Artist path caps it at 88); once an attribute hits its cap, it no longer upgrades on that path. You’ll know the next overall rating (OVR) target, but the specific ratings that increase are random, creating variation between identical items. Once a path reaches its OVR cap, it cannot be upgraded further. You can respec an item at any time to recover all spent SP.

Attribute Upgrade Paths work like the familiar system from CUT 26: a single, fixed line of predictable attribute boosts for each step. Most player items start with either a Dynamic or Attribute path. For both types, you can now apply multiple upgrades at once as long as you have enough SP.
