Marvel Rivals has officially unveiled the final pieces of its launch roster through a new trailer, confirming that players will have 33 characters to choose from when the hero shooter goes live on December 6. The lineup features a mix of fan-favorites and lesser-known heroes, but one particular reveal has drawn intense scrutiny from the community.

Wolverine’s Design Sparks Fan Backlash

Among the newly announced characters is Wolverine, whose inclusion was expected given his prominence in Marvel media. However, the character’s model has been met with widespread criticism. Fans have taken to social media to voice their displeasure, with comments such as “That is not my Wolverine” and comparisons to other franchises—one user described the design as a “reskin Vander from Arcane.” The negative reaction centers on Wolverine’s overly bulky physique, which many feel strays too far from his classic depiction. As a result, numerous players are already hoping for alternate skins that would let them swap away from the default appearance.

Wolverine was not the only character revealed; the trailer also introduced Squirrel Girl, Cloak and Dagger, Iron Fist, and Black Widow. Fortunately, these designs have been better received.
