How to Get Keennes of Tiger & Sterness of Stone

After defeating the King of Flowing Sands and Second Rat Prince in Chapter 2, you’ll find a massive door sealed by a Tally. Interacting with it shows the message: Required: Sterness of Stone, Keeness of Tiger. These two key items are essential to progress, and each one is dropped by a specific boss you must hunt down. The Keeness of Tiger comes from the Tiger Vanguard, while the Sterness of Stone is held by the Stone Vanguard.

Finding the Tiger Vanguard

Start at the Valley of Despair checkpoint, located right next to the Tally. Head into the cave and you’ll trigger a cutscene with the Rat King and another boss—ignore that fight, keep the boss on your left, and push through a crack in the rocks ahead. This leads you through a winding path to the Temple of the Crouching Tiger. Once inside, you face the Tiger Vanguard, a massive feline warrior drinking from a pool of blood. He’s an aggressive close-range fighter who constantly closes distance with wide swings and quick flashes of steel. Your best bet is to practice Perfect Dodges and come prepared with a few extra levels—consider completing nearby side quests first. Defeating him rewards you with the Rock Solid Spell and the Keeness of Tiger key item.
